Just Another Tourism Asset?
The late 1990's saw a push by the Victorian government to make the national parks system more accountable through both extractive industries and tourism. Ignoring their intrinsic value this placed the primary reason for our parks (their preservation and protection) as an after thought. This article, first published in the VNPA's ParkWatch Magazine in March 1998 explores the tourism agenda.
